About Me

I’m Jennifer Smith, play-at-home mom to two zany tots, wife to jovial superstar sales guy, lover of sandy toes and salty breezes. A long-time shutterbug, I became serious about photography last summer after I scored a new camera for my birthday and was enticed to photograph a couple of weddings. Lucky for me, these events were full of lovely, laid-back people in beautiful settings, so I survived. And craved more!

I launched Carolina Photosmith because I love photographing children and families. I’m blessed to live in the Lowcountry, where abundant light and gorgeous backdrops are plentiful. I believe in the significance of small stuff, including your child’s uniquely endearing traits — a twinkle in the eye, tiny toddler teeth, a smattering of freckles or a funny nose crinkle that comes only with a genuine laugh attack.

There are so many moments and places worth capturing. Birthdays, holidays and first days of school are important milestones, but tea parties on the lawn, shell collecting jaunts, book browsing, hole digging and the season’s first drip-a-licious ice cream cone make for special times, too. Let me help your family preserve something wonderful — for your walls, your coffee tables or your loved ones.
